Global Peace

Will there ever be global peace? Just as one war comes to an end in one part of the world, it seems another starts somewhere else. At one time all the events that were taking place in African countries and the Middle East did not seem to have any effect on people in the western world. With the globe becoming such a small place through technological advances, wars and unrest is now touching every part of the globe. Terrorism strikes fear into all hearts and one never knows where it will strike next.

Finding the solution to global peace is a problem that all countries are struggling to find. Even the United Nations, established after the Second World War to keep peace in the world, is not able to stop the acts of terrorism. Are the world leaders right in using force to try to combat terrorism and bring about world peace? This is a question that everyone seems to be asking.

There are two sides to the question of how to bring about global peace and both sides feel they are right. This brings up the problem of religious affiliation. The terrorists all appear to be fighting for their religious values and deem the religions of the West as pagan. When you read back through the history of the world and indeed through the Bible, you will see that the world has never been at peace. There has always been one country trying to take over another in a quest for power and riches.

There are no right or wrong answers to the question of when we will achieve world peace or how to achieve it. We can only hope and pray that our leaders are doing the right things and that eventually the world will be a place of cooperation, rather than competition.
